An authentication scheme that allows users to log in to multiple applications using a single set of credentials.

Context & Usage

SSO improves user experience and security (centralized password policies, audit). Common SSO protocols: SAML 2.0 (enterprise), OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect (web/mobile). Major SSO platforms: Okta, Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace, Active Directory Federation Services.
