A US government program providing a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.
Context & Usage
FedRAMP authorizes cloud platforms and SaaS products to be used by federal agencies. Three impact levels (Low, Moderate, High) based on data sensitivity. Major FedRAMP-authorized platforms: AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud for Government. On-premises hardware can be deployed in FedRAMP-style configurations but FedRAMP itself targets cloud services.
