Aruba Network Switches — CX & Instant On Series

Enterprise and SMB managed switches from HPE Aruba Networking

About Network Switches

Aruba (now HPE Aruba Networking) has become a leading challenger to Cisco in enterprise networking. The Aruba CX switch platform offers modern REST API management, built-in analytics, and a disaggregated AOS-CX operating system — all at price points 20-30% below comparable Cisco Catalyst models.

We stock the full Aruba switch lineup from entry-level Instant On for small businesses to CX 6400 modular chassis switches for campus distribution. Every Aruba switch we sell includes the full feature set without separate licensing — unlike Cisco, there's no DNA license to budget for.

Aruba Switch Series

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Aruba as good as Cisco for enterprise networking?

Aruba CX switches are fully enterprise-grade with features comparable to Cisco Catalyst 9000. Aruba advantages: no separate DNA license fees, REST API management built-in, simpler stacking (VSF). Cisco advantages: larger install base, more third-party ecosystem support, more TAC resources. For most enterprise deployments, both are excellent choices.

Do Aruba switches require licensing?

No. Aruba CX switches include all features in the base price — no equivalent to Cisco DNA licensing. AOS-CX includes L2/L3 routing, ACLs, QoS, VSF stacking, REST API, and NetEdit management without additional license purchases. This typically saves 15-25% over comparable Cisco solutions.

Can Aruba switches work alongside Cisco switches?

Yes. Aruba CX switches support standard networking protocols (STP, LACP, OSPF, BGP, VRRP) and interoperate fully with Cisco and other vendors. Many organizations run mixed environments during migration or by design. Standard SFP/SFP+ transceivers work across brands.

Which Aruba switch replaces the HP 2530/2930?

The Aruba CX 6200 replaces the legacy HP/Aruba 2530 and 2930F series. It runs the modern AOS-CX operating system (replacing ArubaOS-Switch/ProVision), supports VSF stacking, and has a REST API for automation. If migrating from 2930F, the CX 6200 is the direct successor.
