Server Rack Rail Kits

Sliding and static rack mount rails for Dell, HP, and Lenovo servers

About Server Rail Kits

Mount your servers securely with the correct rack rail kit. Rails allow your server to slide in and out of the rack for maintenance access — essential for hot-swap drive replacements, memory upgrades, and cable management.

We stock rail kits for Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, and Lenovo ThinkSystem servers in both sliding (tool-less) and static (fixed) configurations.

Popular Rail Kits

  • Dell ReadyRails II — Sliding, tool-less, for R640/R740/R750/R760 (1U and 2U)
  • Dell Static Rails — Fixed mount, lower cost, for R440/R540
  • HP 733660-B21 — 1U SFF Easy Install Rail Kit for DL360 Gen9/Gen10
  • HP 733664-B21 — 2U Ball Bearing Rail Kit for DL380 Gen9/Gen10
  • Lenovo 4M17A07276 — Sliding Rail Kit for ThinkSystem SR630/SR650

Rails are server-specific — a Dell rail won't fit an HP server. Always match the rail kit to your exact server model and form factor (1U/2U/4U).

Frequently Asked Questions

Are server rail kits universal?

No. Each server manufacturer uses proprietary rail mounting systems. Dell ReadyRails only fit Dell PowerEdge chassis, HP rails only fit ProLiant chassis, etc. Within a brand, rails are often shared across a generation (e.g., Dell R740 rails fit R640 since both are 14th Gen), but always verify by part number.

What is a cable management arm (CMA)?

A CMA is an articulating arm that attaches to the rear of the rails and organizes power and network cables. When you slide the server out, the CMA extends with it, keeping cables tidy. CMAs are optional but recommended for dense rack deployments. They are sold separately from rail kits.

Do I need sliding or static rails?

Sliding rails let you pull the server forward for maintenance without removing it from the rack. Static rails are fixed — the server sits on them but cannot slide. Use sliding rails for production servers that need regular maintenance. Static rails are fine for lab environments or servers rarely accessed.
