OLTP Database — SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle data and log volumes. Mixed-use SSDs (3 DWPD) recommended for transaction-heavy workloads.
VMware Datastore — ESXi 7/8 datastores hosting 30–80 VMs per drive. RAID 10 for write-intensive, RAID 5 for read-leaning VM mixes.
Citrix / Horizon VDI — Linked-clone master images and write-cache disks. Lower DWPD acceptable since VDI write patterns are bursty.
NoSQL & Real-Time Analytics — MongoDB, Cassandra, ClickHouse, Druid hot-tier nodes. NVMe variant strongly preferred over SAS/SATA for query latency.
