WD Enterprise Drive Families
- Ultrastar HC580 (26 TB) — Highest capacity nearline drive. CMR recording, helium-sealed. SAS or SATA interface.
- Ultrastar DC HC550 (16-18 TB) — Proven data center workhorse. Available in SAS and SATA.
- Ultrastar DC HC530 (14 TB) — Cost-optimized capacity tier. Excellent for archive and backup.
- Ultrastar C10K1800/C10K900 — 10K RPM performance drives. 600 GB-1.8 TB SAS for transactional workloads.

Are WD Ultrastar drives compatible with Dell and HP servers?
Yes. WD Ultrastar drives are standard SAS/SATA enterprise drives compatible with all major server platforms. Many OEM-branded drives in Dell and HP servers are actually WD Ultrastar drives with OEM firmware. We can supply drives with the correct drive caddy for your server model.
How long do WD enterprise drives last?
WD Ultrastar drives carry a 5-year limited warranty and are rated for 2.5 million hours MTBF — the highest in the industry. They are helium-sealed (14TB+) which reduces internal turbulence and wear. In properly cooled data center environments, expect 6-8+ years of reliable operation.
