About Server Bezels

A server front bezel is more than cosmetic. It filters dust from the front intake, prevents casual or accidental drive removal in shared racks, and on many models locks with a key for physical security. A missing or broken bezel exposes drives and the front panel, and can let unfiltered dust into the airflow path. We stock front bezels and faceplates across HP ProLiant, Dell PowerEdge, IBM/Lenovo System x, and Sun platforms.

Bezels are model- and generation-specific — the mounting clips, dimensions, and any lock/key pattern are matched to the exact chassis. We supply bezels with keys where the OEM design uses one. Is a server bezel just cosmetic?

No. A front bezel filters dust from the front intake, deters accidental or unauthorized drive removal, and on many models locks with a key for physical security. Removing it exposes the drives and front panel and can let unfiltered dust into the airflow path. It is inexpensive protection for both the hardware and the data on the front drives.

Can I get a server bezel with the key?

Yes — our bezels ship with keys where the OEM design uses a lock. Dell and HPE bezels use common key patterns per generation, so a replacement bezel and key work together. If you bought a used server without a bezel, ordering the correct bezel for your model gives you both the dust filter and the locking security back.

Are server bezels interchangeable between models?

No. Bezels are matched to the exact chassis — the mounting clips, width, height, and lock pattern differ by model and generation. A Dell R720 bezel will not fit an R730, and an HP DL380 Gen9 bezel will not fit a Gen10. Always order by the exact server model to get a bezel that clips on and locks correctly.
