Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the right motherboard for my server?

Use your server service tag (Dell) or serial number (HP) to identify the exact system board part number. Alternatively, check the part number printed on the existing motherboard. For Dell, the P/N is on a white sticker near the CPU sockets. For HP, check the silkscreen near the DIMM slots.

Will I lose my BIOS settings when replacing a motherboard?

Yes. BIOS/UEFI settings, RAID configuration, and iDRAC/iLO license are tied to the motherboard. After replacement: reconfigure BIOS settings, re-import RAID foreign configuration (if applicable), and re-license iDRAC/iLO Enterprise if needed.
