UPS Battery Backup Systems

APC Smart-UPS and Back-UPS systems to protect your servers from power loss

About UPS Battery Backup

Protect your servers, switches, and storage from power outages, surges, and brownouts with enterprise-grade UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. A single power event can corrupt databases, crash VMs, and damage hardware — a UPS gives you clean power and time to safely shut down.

We carry the full APC by Schneider Electric UPS lineup including Smart-UPS for servers, Back-UPS for workstations, and rackmount models for data centers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size UPS do I need for my server?

Calculate total wattage of all connected equipment (server PSU wattage x number of servers + switch wattage). Choose a UPS rated at 1.25x your total load. Example: 2 servers at 750W each = 1500W load. You need a UPS rated at least 1875W (approximately 2200VA). The APC SMT2200RM2U would be appropriate.

What is the difference between line-interactive and online UPS?

Line-interactive (APC Smart-UPS SMT/SMC) corrects minor voltage fluctuations via AVR and switches to battery during outages (2-4ms transfer time). Online/double-conversion (APC Smart-UPS SRT) continuously converts AC to DC to AC, providing zero transfer time and the cleanest power. Use online for mission-critical servers and line-interactive for general server rooms.
